School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) is currently split into two campuses within twenty minutes walk of each other. The Brunei Gallery is in the Russell Square campus, located in the Bloomsbury area of London. Bloomsbury lies on the North Eastern corner of the West End, and is popular for its shops, theaters and nightlife. The venue has excellent access to national and international travel links. Eurostar and Thameslink trains stop at St. Pancras. Russell Square tube station connects directly with London Heathrow Airport via the Piccadilly Line, and with Heathrow Express via Circle or Hammersmith & City lines. Gatwick trains link through the Victoria Line, to Warren Street tube station. City and Stanstead Express trains connect through Tottenham Court Road (Central Line) tube station.
The Brunei Gallery was completed in 1995, with an extension in 2004. The conference centre contains a spacious tiered lecture theatre, with state-of-the-art audiovisual support. Coffee breaks and luncheon will be held in the bright, sunlit exhibition area.
By Train: The closest train stations are Euston and St Pancras/ Kings Cross. Marylebone, Paddington, Victoria and Charing Cross stations are close by.
By Tube: Brunei Gallery is within easy walking distance of Russell Square (Piccadilly Line), Goodge Street (Northern Line), Tottenham Court Road (Central Line), Euston Square (Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan Lines) and Warren Street (Victoria Line). Mainline trains connect through Kings Cross (served by the Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Victoria and Piccadilly lines).
By Bus: Buses 7,68, 91,168 and 188 stop at Russell Square. Buses 10, 14, 24, 29, 73, 134 and 390 stop on Tottenham Court Road (northbound) or Gower Street (southbound).
By Car: SOAS is in the Congestion Charge Zone and Low Emission Zone. Car parks are located at Brunswick Square NCP, The Royal National Hotel, Russell Court NCP and Judd St NCP.
